How Does CBD Work?

How Does CBD Work? 2017-03-10T21:52:28+00:00

Simply put, CBD interacts positively within our body through the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) to create homeostasis and promote healing, health, and wellbeing.  The discovery of the Endocannabinoid system was fairly recent in 1992.  “Endo” meaning within our own body and “Cannabinoid” meaning the way our body reacts to the chemical compounds called cannabinoids.

Research and medical discovery continue to evolve, but thus far, virtually all research in all conditions, in all cells, and all systems in the body seem to be almost miraculous, showing no negative effects, in regard to CBD.  Cannabinoids act naturally on the Cannabinoid receptors that are present throughout our entire body working to achieve regulation, and act as a control system to achieve balance or homeostasis at a cellular level.

The medical implications are astounding and CBD shows promise in all facets of our body, from nurturing overall health and wellbeing to improving all types of pain, promoting regulation of the complex nervous system, cardiopulmonary, endocrine, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and immune systems, even down to the tissue and skin level.  Cannabinoids facilitate healing in numerous disease states, including cancer, which may explain the strong statement made by the NIH that summarized says, the ECS is evoked in nearly all human disease.  As stated by Dr. Sanjay Gupta” The Science is there.  This isn’t anecdotal.”  Billions of federal dollars are being dedicated to continued research.  The United States government even holds patent number 6630507 for Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants.  Many Biotech and Big Pharma companies are dedicating their efforts in this direction as well.
